As difficult as it is to defend Getsy I'm going to do my best. Did you see the other plays that Fields dropped back on? He will not cut it loose. He has so much potential and either can't read defenses or, actually that is the only reason you would not throw to open receivers. It's either 50 screens or take 15 sacks a game

There were a few plays where he didn't throw it fast enough, true. But far a majority of his dropbacks he had Vikings players in his face within 2 seconds. I'm not a Fields stan, but I shade towards hoping he can put it together a bit better. Getsy ain't the one that gets Justin there.

The fact that Getsy seemed to trot out the exact same gameplan against MIN as he did in their first meeting is a fireable offense. It's as if he thought "Well, they blitzed the hell out of us and everyone else they've played, maybe this time they'll sit back and let us run 100 screens!"

Screen plays are how you beat the blitz though. The Bears just don't execute them well enough to keep defenses honest.

screens are not the only way to beat a blitz. slants and any quick, FORWARD pass works too.
