I mean, the Tesla port opening up as the defacto standard is going to literally save the EV market in the US from being monopolized by Tesla so I’m not really sure why you would be down about that.

This opens up hundreds of reliably functioning DC chargers to other manufacturers, moving the equation from “completely stupid to buy a non-Tesla” to “sweet, I don’t need to buy a Tesla anymore!” if shopping for a primary vehicle.

As an owner of the Bolt, road-tripping in a Tesla is a breeze compared to the nightmarish hell of other EVs. I would need legitimate brain damage to wake up and say “yeah, gonna drive across the country in my Bolt”.
