Personally I'd recommend thick drink bottles. I have an old bottle of Arizona tea (gallon) that I use for mine. These have (approximately) the same thickness as a laundry detergent bottle, but has a more standard cap and doesn't have the spout like most laundry detergents do like the other commenter pointed out. Alternatives could be Hawaiian Punch gallon bottles and sunny D gallon bottles.
I use the laundry bottles as a grease container. The spout can be pulled out fairly easy. With a little detergent left in the bottle is floats above the grease masking the smell.
