Is there any good way to find like an online class or something that could recreate that experience? I do not want to try to self-teach a language, that sounds awful lol

Check out the italki app. You can get personalised lessons for a pretty good price there, and with someone who actually lives in China no less.

yeah I use italki practice + anki for flashcard vocab
