I started doing yearly blood tests as soon as she became a senior ( at age 8) they discovered it early. She's 16 now but I wish I did the iodine therapy when she was younger to cure it :( But she has a lot of anxiety and suffers a lot even when I board her for a few days because she is very connected to me, she looses a lot of weight and stresses out so didn't have the hear to put her through the iodine therapy and being away for 2 weeks due to the radioactivity. She is still very happy and purring next to me , I give her food through the day in puzzle toys so she also eats more and a very high protein diet to not loose muscle mass. I studied to be a vet nurse so it's important for me to give her the best of care
