Are you sure? Often RAM support changes after later BIOS updates. And sometimes it’s undocumented but supports more than the specs say.

it's a limitation of the chipset, this laptop can only take 8gb of ram

also should mention that it's a dual core from 2010... I can't see that ending well ;p
