The first one was so good. The sequel has dark souls 2 graphics but it doesnt improve on anything unlike dark souls 2. Every two minutes my party calls me gay. I cannot restart the game without spending real money. Theres no fast travel unless you spend real money on it. It crashes every five minutes. This game is horrible, legitimate contender for worst game of the year. Which is sad because a lot of work was put into it. Oh well, I guess gamers need to suffer and hexbear needs to gaslight me into buying this piece of shit.

I can't tell if this is a joke post or not because "Every two minutes my party calls me gay" sounds like typical Hexbear gamer mocking, but the rest are legitimate complaints?

Not a joke. The game literally comments on your partys gender composition, if you have an all male party the game calls you gay, if you have an all women party you get called a perv. Pawns dont have many other lines so you hear this a lot. Its not what theyre saying is offensive, its annoying.

i mean i remember hearing "WOLVES HUNT IN PACKS!" and shit about harpies and fire weakness at least 42069 times while playing the first game twenty years ago so it seems they're keeping the legacy of having 5 pawn voicelines for a whole ass game intact

that being said i'll find out first hand when the game is finally cracked in 27 months shrug-outta-hecks kinda excited for the FMV cooking footage

Mine keeps saying "I've noticed we all are of different vocations"

[–] makotech222@hexbear.net 11 points 1 year ago (1 children)

not really. you don't have to spend money on anything

Yeah I've played for maybe four hours total and I have six ferrystones from doing a couple of quests and finding them in the field

It's a problem that Capcom would make them a thing to spend real money on, but they're not a necessary purchase

[–] makotech222@hexbear.net 7 points 1 year ago

yeah its generally easy to find what you need. Also, cant forget cheats making it super easy

You can not buy ferrystones for real money

You can restart the game by manually deleting your save file, and you'll get placeable portcrystals later even if you don't buy the cash shop one. The only things you can't get without the cash shop are the slightly-lighter camping set, the sound pack that replaces some sounds and music with DD1 sounds, and the heartfelt pendant, which is supposedly for gifting to NPCs but I haven't figured out why I would want to do that.

And honestly, "DD1 again" is still a pretty good game. Also I think the balance changes in the early game (most notably goblins and wolves not being super sweaty encounters for level 1 characters) makes early exploration a lot more chill.

You like the game. SHAME!!!

Obvious bait, but I won't be getting it until they do fix the issues and (hopefully) remove denuvo. I wish it had been released in a complete state, but this is the reality of AAA studio releases for the last 15 years.

The game isn't horrible (especially once you ignore the ridiculous and false claims people have made in regards to the games microtransactions like in the OP) but it's incredibly mediocre. It's a sequel to a decade old game that neither manages to improve on the originals strengths nor its flaws and ends up feeling incredible uninspiring and unexciting as a result.
