Speaking of moms (and Jurassic Park), did you know that Diane Ladd (the mad scientist in this movie) was at one time married to Bruce Dern, and that they have a daughter named Laura Dern?
You just know junior saved that for a really vicious argument.
Laura: "Oh really? Well I played a dinosaur scientist in Jurassic Park! You know, the original! What about you? Carnosaur? Really? Are you SURE that wasn't a porno?!?"
Diane: Shrieks uncontrollably.
Also, both Carnosaur and Jurassic Park came out in 1993..
Growing up, there was a corner store in my neighborhood with a little movie rental room in the back. I have so many vivid memories of VHS covers from the 80s and 90s lining the shelves back there, especially from the horror genre. My best friend lived beside that store and even now, thirty years later, we still talk about it and send each other images of these covers whenever we come across them. I completely forgot about this one. I better pass it along.
People growing up in the age of streaming will never know what a fun experience renting movies from a physical store was. I miss it!

Sbarge is as good a reason as any to search this out. You don't watch Carnosaur for the fantastic practical dinosaur FX. ;)
