It's a tragedy how many Star Wars fans didn't care for Andor. To them, if there's no constant pandering and obviously referencing the films, it's not Star Wars
Andor is really good because it rises above the typical pastiche you see everywhere in Star Wars productions
I get the sense that many of the initial hold-outs came around to it eventually, even if they won't publicly admit it. It feels like some just can't find the words to allow them to back down.
They'll always be an audience of people who want their own nostalgia fed back to them (and I'm probably guilty of part of that group too, sometimes). Just have to hope that something like Andor comes up occasionally, to use a genre like sci-fi for its intention, to critique our world, rather than just be an expensive re-creation of bashing toys together.
Andor is what got me back into star wars. I've been massively let down by almost everything else I've watched though :(
Hear hear. Obi-Wan and Andor came out around the same time, and the difference in quality is absurd.
