Went in today to the ABC open house. It was great! Met a few TV and radio presenters. Met the lady who 'interrupts this broadcast' to tell people about emergencies. Met Costa (the gardening Australia guy).

Called in while standing in the producer's studio and saw how they use a literal shared Google doc to communicate with whoever is on air, introducing callers etc.

Stood at the news desk and weather area, taking photos. It was all lots of fun. The kids then watched the news tonight and were super excited at having just been in that studio. It made it all more real to them.

I saw Costa at a gardening show, the man was in his element. Gardening show royalty as well, everybody there knew him. People walking past offering chips, sayin hi, great stuff.

I've heard they use google docs as the communication method at other radio stations as well. Must be because its such a flexible medium.
