I noticed this item in recepy book and quickly made it to try it out, and what i noticed was that you can fall trye him and i couldnt pick it up after placing it on the ground. I asume thats a bug.. Looks interesting, but i wander what is its purpose?

As far as I can tell this is a decorative block, which would make its purpose "to look nice".

To me that looks like block for hidden tree base, to be able to jump trough tree without being noticed from outside..
