A little sad they have money deducted for a shift meal. I can understand just not offering one, and making people just buy one if they want, with an employee discount perhaps. Or preferably just making it a free perk, one of the few nice ones for restaurant work.

But automatically deducting pay for it is a little meh.

It’s pretty well known in the f&b industry that if a meal isn’t provided by the restaurant then it will just be stolen by staff. Maybe Waffle House is ok with that unstated agreement

Think they'll remove the mandatory 10% service fee for ordering online? Which BTW, is now the only way to order to-go unless you go to the store.
