If the neat-looking, edible mushrooms thrive in the damp, would they crowd out some of the more toxic moulds?

Yes. Potentially. Although this is more likely to occur in a closed environment.

Weird, I don’t think I’ve ever reacted to fungus by thinking it’s kinda beautiful.. but this one is kinda nice
