Summary

Far-right Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene claims that Donald Trump’s recent election win validates her position as part of “mainstream America” rather than the “fringe.”

Greene, known for her controversial conspiracy theories, argued on conservative outlet Real America’s Voice that Trump’s supporters align with her beliefs.

With speculation that she might join Trump’s cabinet, Greene asserted that loyal MAGA supporters should be prioritized for roles in his administration over newcomers like RFK Jr. and Vivek Ramaswamy, emphasizing her unwavering support for Trump and his policies.

I'm terrified that she's right. And I think she's right.

[–] ptz@dubvee.org 55 points 6 months ago (1 children)

I still believe the sane people are the majority. However, they have clearly failed in their civic duties to show up to vote.

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 25 points 6 months ago (4 children)

If you claim that sane people are the majority yet insane things happen, then everyone is insane.

After Tuesday, I must conclude she is right.

I've never been so embarrassed about my country. The fear hasn't even hit me yet.

[–] inclementimmigrant@lemmy.world 17 points 6 months ago

Somehow even as a minority, it's actually kind of cathartic to finally know what America is officially.

[–] blindbunny@lemmy.ml 22 points 6 months ago

And they want to make education worse...

[–] Ooops@feddit.org 11 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

She's wrong and right at the same time...

not a right-wing extremist ❌

mainstream American ✅

“Think about how stupid the average American is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.”

-George Carlin

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 46 points 6 months ago (2 children)

They should install a turbine onto Carlin's grave because he's spinning so fast right now that he could power a small city.

[–] karl_chungus@lemm.ee 46 points 6 months ago

That’s clean energy, the incoming government won’t care until he turns to oil.

I love that we have data to back that up now.

[–] karl_chungus@lemm.ee 12 points 6 months ago

I don’t :/

[–] inclementimmigrant@lemmy.world 102 points 6 months ago (2 children)

Sorry but it's absolutely true and she's absolutely right after this election.

America is a racist nation.

[–] BassTurd@lemmy.world 12 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Through all of this, this has more or less been the toughest pill to swallow. It's not a vocal minority, it's all of them. I had hopes that enough of them would be turned off by the rhetoric and rape, but I've been proven wrong. Absolute zero empathy for humanity. I can only hope that these worthless people are hurt first and hurt worst by the upcoming administration.

[–] TransplantedSconie@lemm.ee 9 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

They will. The ACA is gonna be destroyed, FEMA is going to be destroyed, shit they are even going to take away the NOAA weather alerts because it will "promote climate change." They won't even have warnings before they hit and no money after.

Fuck them all. Especially the motherfuckers in Georgia who decided to sit this election out.

May the seas swallow them all.

She's 100% the mainstream in the south.

[–] inclementimmigrant@lemmy.world 7 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago) (1 children)

She's 100% right across the country as a whole. You don't have 15 million people missing from voting and condoning racism wholesale and not admit your a racist country.

[–] InverseParallax@lemmy.world 5 points 6 months ago (1 children)

No, she's 25-30% of the country as a whole.

But she's the south 100% through and through.

The terrifying thing is: The massive toxic landfill that is the south is leaking :(

[–] inclementimmigrant@lemmy.world 14 points 6 months ago (3 children)

Nope, every damn swing state, every Midwest State, every damn state even the blue ones that had Democrats and progressives sitting out showed me that America is A-fucking-okay with racism and misogyny.

Sorry but the nation isn't better than this.

Yes, yes she is. I'm sorry to tell you that an obscene amount of americans could only be dumber if they were born as a stone. And another stupidly high part are also as evil as it comes.

[–] laurelraven@lemmy.zip 40 points 6 months ago (1 children)

I hate to say it... But yeah. She is.

I hate this timeline.

[–] Joelk111@lemmy.world 14 points 6 months ago

Yep, this is what caused me the most grief about the election. These people are everywhere.

[–] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 32 points 6 months ago (8 children)

Democrats are already seeking her endorsement for 2028.

[–] thesporkeffect@lemmy.world 8 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

I'm willing to bet a significant amount of American dollars that if she would have endorsed Harris, Harris would have accepted it.

[–] inclementimmigrant@lemmy.world 6 points 6 months ago

I guess so since Democrats reaching out for Liz Cheney and getting her endorsement didn't pan out.

She is apparently not wrong, and I hate that.

[–] slickgoat@lemmy.world 22 points 6 months ago

She kinda, sorta, has a point...

[–] Professorozone@lemmy.world 21 points 6 months ago

Maybe if she becomes part of Trump's cabinet, she can finally get control of that sweet hurricane generating tech she said exists.

[–] oxjox@lemmy.ml 20 points 6 months ago

That's the problem.

[–] cranakis@reddthat.com 20 points 6 months ago

She's right.

[–] P1nkman@lemmy.world 17 points 6 months ago

The average American is dumb, so she's calling herself dumb, which she is. Gotta give it to her, she has some self reflection.

[–] zcd@lemmy.ca 17 points 6 months ago
[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 17 points 6 months ago

At this point, she's right. she is mainstream America as mainstream America voted trump in too

[–] ShadowRam@fedia.io 17 points 6 months ago

Which is exactly why everyone is disappointed with this election.

It's not disappointment with what the dems did or didn't do.

It's the disappointment now knowing that America is dumber than initially expected and more out of touch of what's actually happening around them.

[–] n3m37h@sh.itjust.works 15 points 6 months ago

Yeah, America IS FUCKED

[–] RangerJosie@lemmy.world 14 points 6 months ago

Nothing more normal than screaming "I'm Normal! I'm Normal! I'm Normal!" to everyone you can possibly victimize with your shrill not un-harpy-like voice.

[–] je_skirata@lemmy.today 13 points 6 months ago (4 children)

I read that as "Magic the Gathering" and was very confused

[–] dhork@lemmy.world 10 points 6 months ago

Tap for 1 red MAGA

[–] cardboardchris@lemmy.world 7 points 6 months ago

Same. Every time.

If she is the mainstream then we have all gone Hollow.

[–] Buddahriffic@lemmy.world 10 points 6 months ago

I wonder what portion of her "support" is thinking "stfu already and gtf back to the kitchen and let the men handle this shit".

[–] Steve@communick.news 10 points 6 months ago

That's not how that works.

The average mainstream American likes Christmas.
The average mainstream American doesn't own 90 ugly Christmas Sweaters so they can wear a different one every day for 2 months.

You are the latter.

[–] recapitated@lemmy.world 9 points 6 months ago
[–] dmtalon 8 points 6 months ago

oh great, she's back... It was nice not seeing stories about here on here / in the news for a while

[–] PDiddyDo@lemmy.world 6 points 6 months ago

She's right. Americans can't hide behind popular vote anymore. They are terrible people

[–] andrew_bidlaw@sh.itjust.works 5 points 6 months ago (1 children)

I like how the summary ends. It gives me hope of some backstabbing and conflicts over nepotism.

[–] formergijoe@lemmy.world 12 points 6 months ago (1 children)

That's my primary hope. Musk and Peter Thiel have hated each other since the PayPal days, and I'm hoping the Thiel picked administration members butt heads with the Trump/Musk campaign and nothing gets done because they'll act like backstabby high schoolers.
