For some reason I can't search @mealtimevideos@lemmy.cafe on Mastodon, it pops up a "503 Remote data could not be fetched" error. FYI.
Thanks for letting me know! Unfortunately I've never used mastodon for more than a few minutes, so I'm not really sure how to troubleshoot that issue. I'm guessing that the mastodon server hasn't initiated federation with this lemmy instance. On lemmy, manually searching the full URL of an external lemmy community will cause it to initiate federation, but I'm not sure what the procedure is to initiate it from the mastodon side. Perhaps following a lemmy.cafe account?
This might have been some sort of transient issue, I was able to follow when I tried again today.
