So they should. Billionaires buying themselves parties is an abuse of the democracy.
UK Politics
General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both !uk_politics@feddit.uk and !unitedkingdom@feddit.uk .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.
Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.
Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.
If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)
Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.
Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.
Billionaires are trying to buy permanent power across the world.

The marvel movies were prepping us to worship the powerful and trust that they'll save the day maybe? 🧐
Iron Man was a psy op
Hollywood is central to US propaganda efforts. The scripts of all movies involving war or the military are vetted by the Pentagon's "Hollywood Liaison Unit"
Check how often the name of the Pentagon censor Phil Strub appears in movie credits.
He clearly has too much money. We should take a big chunk off him, call it's cine for electoral interference.
We should take a big chunk off him
His head?
I'm not suggesting it's Guillotine Time. Not yet anyway.
Wait until after breakfast. We're not barbarians.
Off with his head!
Not until I've finished my tea and toast, you don't!
The current system is very profitable for companies like Drax that survive off of government subsidies so spend a lot on bribes (oh sorry, lobbying, it's completely different I'm sure) for people in power to make such they keep these subsidies. Of course I imagine most MPs would be against this cap as it'd decrease their pay.
