I am looking to buy an e-reader.

My main criteria is that it runs a Linux Distro where I can install the "normal" desktop stuff like an X server and KeepassXC and a web browser.

I am comfortable jailbreaking the device or physically flashing a SOIC chip like you do on those old Thinkpads to install Libreboot.

Ideally I would be able to install any arbitrary distro (especially NixOS, even if that means using a custom kernel). But if I have to use specifically Debian or Alpine or something that is OK.

Either give some recommendations or give links to some resources where I can learn more before buying.

I already know about the Pine64 PineNote but that is too expensive for me.
