Nice paper launch and how will Nvidia be working their 5080 upsell edition strategy with nothing to upsell with.

That's still $10k worth of graphics cards. How many of these do they expect to sell at that price?

Artificial as in, they could make more consumer cards, but chose the much more profitable business hardware.

There aren't warehouses full of 5090s, but NVIDIA is drip feeding them to people.

It depends, I'm not sure if it's a binning thing and they can't make enough perfect chips for the 3090. Or it might just be limited memory, they're using all the gddr7 that's being made and that's with many different suppliers.

I've been trying to get a 5090, refreshed eight stores for a while. I saw one 5090, that you could purchase, 3200€, gone instantly. It's now the "topseller".

Two shops list the different 5090 models, none available of course, two others had 5080s for a while, before removing the listings again, although they supposedly weren't sold out.

If you go on eBay there are dozens of listings for pictures of 5090s for the MSRP with the description "humans don't buy". I love it ✊

Literally not a paper launch.
And very typical with every new Nvidia generation.
What else would anyone expect?

I was lucky to snag a PNY 5080 but this looks like the tightest launch since the 3080. Maybe worse. Supply chain analysis suggests we’re going to see a lot more stock in the coming months so no one should feel left out.
