621 miles is 999.4 km, so 1000 km is probably what they're shooting for, but 621.3 miles doesn't sound good in an article.

I would have suggested 1000km as the headline then. Many of the American folks who’d consider an EV have at least a rough concept of metric

I qualified the statement to narrow it down to just American who would buy an EV. That eliminates a lot of ignorant folks.
