Mike Waltz, Donald Trump's national security advisor, is set to leave his White House post amid continued fallout weeks after he accidentally invited a journalist into a chat between top national security officials discussing plans for Yemen airstrikes.

Trump had publicly stood by Waltz after his national security adviser and other members of the chat vigorously denied sharing any classified war plans on the publicly available app Signal. The chat was revealed when Jeffrey Goldberg, the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, published a March 24 story detailing how Waltz accidentally invited him into the communications.

But behind-the scenes, the embarrassing mishap ‒ which even Trump started referring to as "Signalgate" ‒ took a toll on the relationship between Trump and Waltz, a former Republican congressman from Florida.

101 days. That's 9.18 Mooches or 2.3 Trusses if you're using the metric system.

This is a gorgeous metric and I came here to upvote your comment. Please accept my upvote. Thank you.

I just love that "Truss" is the accepted metric conversion of "Mooch" lol.

It's natural, too. No questions needed, it fits perfectly.

Genius. Love it.

Pete Hegseth is the problem.

The whole administration is the problem

Don't call it an 'administration', that normalises the situation. There's a regime that installed itself via a coup, disguised as a 'normal' presidential election that was 'won'.

Basically seems like Waltz is the designated fall guy to preserve Hegseth, most likely because Hegseth has a jawline and more pomade.

This! Also, I suspect that Mike was the insider leaking shit to the press about the regime actions and closed-door meetings. The journalist on the Signal chat looked like incompetence, but I think it was Mike trying to shed light on their clear Records Act violations by using Signal for official communications. Then the press happens to photograph his use of a third-party Signal app that allows archiving, something Signal doesn't natively have.

If we stop seeing these big meeting leaks, such as the scuffles between Rubio and Musk, and big scandal topics, then we'll have it possible answer.

I'm more shocked that it was only about a month ago. Feels like it happened months ago.

Wow can this dumpster fire get any worse?!? (I know the answer but holy fuck). Anyone on the right party spectrum, it’s time to reconfigure your party because this is bad. Maybe we should bring back proper education? Maybe increase the department of education so we have people with common sense and smarts to do the bare minimum in their position? Same goes for the left as well, don’t get me wrong. All these officials don’t understand what is needed for the people.

Is this the guy who was throwing hissy fits when Musk was making management decisions without keeping him in the loop? I figured that would make him a target for expulsion from the regime.
