I've seen the issue in multiple communities over time. This time I asked what the media was ("JPEG hosted on Imgur") so I could share it with the Voyager dev.

Let me know if you have any questions.

!womenshockey@reddthat.com

Edit: so interestingly when I clicked on the post link the image loaded for me the first time, but none of the times after that. The link to the community still shows the same "Failed to Load Media".

Been having this issue on like… every fucking image lately. I deleted the cache and that seems to help a little? But yeah I don’t understand, never had the issue on whatever the other app I used that’s no longer updated was.

Looks like it loads flakey. Issue with the image host maybe? Here is screenshot of Lemmy-ui via Lemmy.zip also not working.

That's unfortunate. Flaky fails are the worst.

Maybe a timeout issue. I feel like I've seen images partly load (slowly) and then just switch to "failed to load" before they finish.

Regardless, thanks for taking the time to look into it :)

429 error - image is rate limited I would assume, potentially by sopuli given the url and the fact it works on sopuli. Second time today I've seen the lemmy image proxy cause an issue with being double proxied!
