I just want to find a video of someone using a pedalo!

Looks so impractical, what a weird invention!

Never used them myself but other videos I found make these seem very much like a children's PE class / therapeutic kind of thing. Hopefully some kind Germans can enlighten us on the use case of Pedalos

It's definitely not practical, but it's good to learn some balance. And thinking back it was kinda fun.

Ha, yeah when the lady and her two clones roll across the screen, it looks like all three of them nearly lose their balance and faceplant. I thought Europe was about safety but she's not wearing wrist guards, elbow pads, helmet, nothing.

My friend, that lady is moving slower than I walk, what safety xD

Why isn't the language of this post set to "German"?

[–] CyberEgg@discuss.tchncs.de 16 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Because it's targeted at users who don't necessarily include german in their language settings.

[–] atro_city@fedia.io -4 points 1 week ago (2 children)

If they don't want to see German content and you make it so that they do see German content, that's a bit rude, isn't it? If you don't want to see content from a specific user and they just create accounts to make you see their content, you'd be a little bit ticked off too, wouldn't you?

[–] CyberEgg@discuss.tchncs.de 13 points 1 week ago

AFAIK you don't block out specific languages. Instead, unless you don't set any language filter at all, youhave to specifically include languages you want to see posts in. So there are probably a bunch of people out there who don't necessarily mind seeing a few posts in different languages but don't care enough to include other languages.

Also, chill. It's a meme, it's gonna be over very quickly anyway.

If you can’t handle the occasional word in another language slipping into your feed, then it’s time to get off the internet. People need to find some real problems so they’ll stop worrying about how good their meme filter is.

Alle anderen Fremdsprachen sind akzeptabel, nur Deutsch ist anstößig.

How dare you! I filtered your country and you force this upon me! /s

Germany has a bit of a history with that. 🤫

I keep seeing these stupid looking things and I wonder what the hell they are. But I'm too lazy to Google it.
