Secure

The Foundation secures anomalies with the goal of preventing them from falling into the hands of civilian or rival agencies, through extensive observation and surveillance and by acting to intercept such anomalies at the earliest opportunity.

Contain

The Foundation contains anomalies with the goal of preventing their influence or effects from spreading, by either relocating, concealing, or dismantling such anomalies or by suppressing or preventing public dissemination of knowledge thereof.

Protect

The Foundation protects humanity from the effects of such anomalies as well as the anomalies themselves until such time that they are either fully understood or new theories of science can be devised based on their properties and behavior. The Foundation may also neutralize or destroy anomalies as an option of last resort, if they are determined to be too dangerous to be contained.

For those who don’t know Here is SCP-5000. I’m doing a little project about 5000 and trying to answer the question. Why? I’ve got some ideas of my own but I’d like to hear from the community for some ideas about why did the Foundation declare war on humanity and the other mysteries of the article

Did you miss the link at the end of file 0001-3 "disgusting" https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/disgusting

I think that explains it well

Yea that explains a good bit but I still find fun in theorizing about it and there’s still plenty of unanswered questions to be solved

Fair enough 😄

What are some of your questions? Posting them might help kick start the discussion.

I kind of assumed the "entity" was SCP-3125, or at least some aspect of it.

Why was Wilson trying to make it to SCP-579‘s cell. He somehow acquired SCP-055 and it did… something to help him. Did this “Entity” they discovered give these ideas to Wilson to escape and spread its influence to other universes or to save its self?( the ending of Disgusting makes me lean hard towards yes) And what in gods name was Samuel Ross and what did he to do destroy Ganzir. Theses are a few questions I have

Interestingly, SCP-055 was partly written by the same person who wrote 3125 (qntm). This may be a stretch, but there's also the fact that they're numbered 055 and 3125 (= 5^5), and now we're talking about SCP-5000 and వ's whole thing is, y'know, the number five.

EDIT: Also, I don't think it's a coincidence that in https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/the-wild-light the Antimemetics Division actually debates wiping out humanity to prevent వ from manifesting, but decides not to.

Hughes stares darkly at his paper. "We could exterminate all intelligent human life," he says. "If there are no sapient hosts in this universe, SCP-3125 can't incarnate."

Maybe SCP-5000 is just a timeline where that decision went the other way?
