I did the first 3 acts... and when it looped back to act 1, I just lost all interest. I had fun until then. But doing Act 1, 2, 3 and then Act NG+ 1, 2, 3 to get to end game... I'm good. I got other things to play.

Haven't played in quite a while. The areas of the campaign are too big for how slow the gameplay is.
I like the idea to make combat more meaningful than the clear speed meta of PoE 1. But at the moment it doesn't feel like PoE 2 is working well enough with this new direction. Boss fights are pretty neat though.
The team behind PoE isn't expecting the game to be 24/7 grindfest that you never stop playing. They want it to be Patch Release -> 2 months of players interested -> Falloff -> Patch Release.
They said they are fine with this, and expect other people to play other games.
That was the strategy with Path of Exile since the 3 month leagues were introduced. Though dropoff seems to come a lot earlier and far steeper than they hoped for it seems.
I'm waiting for full release at this point.
