That godawful generic gaming chair is the only thing that makes me angry here. Those things were designed by the devil.

It's about having fun, not winning

Is it tho when you are taking out a second mortgage to pay for the hardware in your gaming set up?🤣 /s

I mean maybe gaming is not the end goal for those types of people. Some people just like setting up and maintaining server hardware. One of my favorite things was maintaining a Team fortress classic dedicated server. It's fun watching others have fun.

Hack the planet!! It’s all garbage!

Yeah I guess you could use it for CTF in a cyber security sense as well.

I was just making a joke cuz I've never seen that much hardware in a single tower before lol but I agree with you 100%.

Yeah your joke was funny. When I worked in the data center I would see way more than that in a rack. From what I can tell it's only one server in that rack the rest is 2 drive arrays, a network switch, Two patch panels, a monitor, and an UPS.

I want this. Just build my main personal rig and a couple dedicated game servers into a single box. That would be rad as fuck. Especially if the box itself was climate controlled. Fuck, man... Maybe I'd just live in the box.

I have a smaller cabinet and thought it would be cool to put my gaming machine in a Sliger case and keep the cabinet next to my desk until the next time I had to actually use my laptop at the cabinet. Sounds like a jet compared to my gaming rig, so I decided it can continue to live in the basement. I'll get a KVM for the servers or something

That monitor layout would be my personal hell

[–] PyroNeurosis@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

It's exceedingly functional! I have a similar one: main monitor for games, portrait monitor for discord/reading, and a third for videos/browser/misc.

[–] truxnell@aussie.zone 3 points 1 month ago

Totally get the utility, it's just the combo that does me in.

I'm running triple but it's a 42"C4 OLED with twin 1920 X 1200 in portrait either side. I do similar, but it looks much much better.

All I can see is the LINNMON IKEA table.

[–] Brett@feddit.org 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I would use this setup to browse lemmy, maybe watch a yotube video or two and emulate ps1 games.

[–] Lemminary@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

I'd use it to fall asleep in my chair to 90s sitcoms on YouTube.

Completed by an outdated modem-router combo on default settings. Maybe a DSL line.

Is that a picture of Joji on the wall?

[–] TheGreenWizard@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 month ago

Lmao, I think that is, and I think above is Noodle from Gorillaz

[–] ElectroLisa@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 1 month ago

Looks like the cover of "Ballads 1" but rotated 90⁰ ccw

[–] xylol@leminal.space 2 points 1 month ago

I have a setup like that and don't even play call of duty, I mostly just run my own streaming service for friends and family plus a cloud gaming VM for when I play while I poop

[–] vikingtons@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

couldn't be me

[–] victorz@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago
