I sometimes think of the gravitational microlensing that magnifies planets so far away that it is unlikely to ever happen again as it was a chance alignment that just happened to be spotted by our telescopes. Like the planet that may be 4 billion light years away in the Twin Quasar.

We'd probably never be able to verify it, but it's cool to think about.
