Is it normal to have to RSVP for these? There is one only an hour from me, but they want a lot of personal info! They share the address, I could just show up, too.
You absolutely do not have to fill that out. This is a decentralized movement and they'd be more than happy if you just showed up. I assume the RSVP is just to notify you if something changes like the location or maybe a cancellation of the event, but I'd just check the site one last time before you head out.
