Because the CPI is fake, we buy 50% of mortgage bonds in order to depress mortgage interest inflation, and the index is actively manipulated. If you wanted to match real inflation with a minimum wage you'd need either no monetary inflation, or a non-political CPI index that cant be manipulated.

That's the problem with having a minimum wage that covers an entire province.

Metro van cost of living is a lot more expensive then the rest of the province. $17.85 would be fine most anywhere else except places like Kelowna perhaps.

Its sort of the cost of living in a place like Vancouver though, if you want to live with dignity while working a minimum wage job maybe try moving to a smaller rural town.

If we set the minimum wage to $27 just because of Vancouver then everywhere else will be living like kings.
