If you have Ethernet to the dock, you can use wake-on-lan to wake the deck up from your phone, and then connect the controller.

If you have an adapter for the xbox controller, it should be a pretty simple setup.
If you haven’t, it doesn’t look like bluetooth is a fully working option.
The adapter discussed, specifically its the second version that works (8bitdo adapter 2). It’s priced at 20$/£12
The problem is that the dongle I am using to connect the deck to my TV doesn't have a USB port
Then you probably need a dock, too.
I would really like to see the Bluetooth option work someday.
