MODERATORS
they aren't "cracking down on piracy". they're mad that a relatively small portion of their userbase is using their cheap devices to stream third-party content that they make no money off of--and so they're trying to shut down that functionality.
they're moving away from android anyway, so newer revisions of their hardware won't have this same 'problem'
We're rapidly approaching the time when a raspberry pi and bluetooth remote are the ultimate streaming stick.

I'm about to upgrade my m93p thats been in service for 5 or so years :)
They're already locked down to shit anyway, last I heard even changing the default launcher is a big ordeal now.
Wouldn't surprise me if they rebranded FireOS to something else and disallowed app sideloading entirely.
