It will get restored within the first 6 months of a new Democratic President, same as everything else that gets changed

I’m not so sure. The dems will spruce up the place with lovely looking raised beds, herb gardens and other various fanfare, but the disfiguring foundational alterations carved out by these fascists will remain underneath for generations to come.

Only if we immediately decide that everything's fine and proceed to move forward willfully ignoring the very real changes that need to be focused on by everyone.

That's EXACTLY what the Dem leadership will do, as usual.

I don't think Trump plans on giving up the presidency. He's "nesting" his domain.

There's zero chance he leaves willingly.

I read about this. There’s a drainage issue and the lawn is always wet in that area as a result. I don’t think that means paving it over is the best idea though.

Between this and the flagpoles I guess this is infrastructure week finally.

When you get in a Four Seasons Total Landscaping kind of mood

Hahaha almost forget about that, that was good

Is there nothing that he won't fuck up?

article from February

the New York Times reporting that Trump discussed with associates his desire to tear up the grass in the Rose Garden and cover it up with a solid surface.

He is weighing whether it should be “limestone or an easily interchangeable hard surface, with the possibility of installing hardwood floors for dancing,” according to the Times.

Oh look he did the thing he threatened to do

What’s with their vendetta against the plants? First term they took the color, and now they’ve killed them. There’s a metaphor there, but hopefully it isn’t prescient

I think this sums up Trumps presidency nice

Sure, he says concrete but 2 to 1 it'll end up being steel slats.

Okay, what crazy shit is he trying to distract everyone from now?

Flag poles were for the possibility of an Iran invasion.

Trump Mobile was for his sagging poll numbers.

Sending the Marines into LA was for the popularity of the No Kings matches.

So paving over the rose garden is for... invading New Zealand or some other insane idiocy?

I think it's because it's easier to defend a building if your soldiers have pavement under their feet. If I am correct, he may soon make modifications to the area around the white house, as well.

This has been planned for some time. Stop with the conspiracy crap. Yes, Trump does crazy shit to distract, we saw this the first four years. But making every crazy move out to be a distraction is plain bonkers and shows zero thought.
