Interesting that the list of "politically motivated food name changes" does not mention "home fries", formerly "German fries". IIRC this was in the context of WWI.

Every day for the last few decades, I'd bet.

Actually probably since 1776. There's always some KKK-adjacent southerner elect screaming mentally ill shit, whom that locale considered the best option, because they are no better.

This could have been easily avoided by calling them “chips” like a sensible person, and also by not occupying and destabilising the Middle East to maintain imperial control of crude oil production.
