I paid for no-ads Reddit back in the day but when I tried to transfer purchases nothing happened. Is this intentional? $30 seems steep for no ads but I'm a cheap bastard.

Sorry to ask a question that's probably been asked before, couldn't find an answer.

Sync for Lemmy is a different app from Sync for Reddit. So the in-app purchases won't transfer. There's nothing to transfer.

Ah ok lol, that makes me feel silly. What exactly is it transferring from then?

I presume that it’s transferring purchases that you might have made on another Android phone to this one.

If you use dns.adguard.com for your DNS, I believe that blocks Sync's ads. At least, it did for the one day I used Sync for Lemmy before paying for no ads for life (to support the developer).

My Pi hole seems to block it. I wouldn't mind paying again if it was cheaper.

This works, there's still a spot for the ad but it's just a blank section

There . . . shouldn’t be ads on Lemmy? Am I mussing something? I mean, it wouldn’t be the first time.

Sync is an app developed by one independent developer and he enters ad onto the free version of the app to pay for his bills. If you browse using any open source apps or browser you won't see any ads.

I bought sync for lemmy premium on my phone and the restore purchases on my tablet does not see this purchase. It shows ads. I won't be renewing if i have to pay for each device separately.
