I think both positive and negative feedback is important for content sorting and as such would like if we reintroduced downvotes.

I understand that disabling them gives our posts an advantage in the fediversal post sorting algorithm. However most activity is off instance where downvotes still matter (just we can't take part).

The ideal solution would be to enable downvotes for local users but still deny downvotes from remote users as though we don't support them. This way we maintain the sorting advantage as well as gaining all the advantages of downvotes.

What do u guys think?

We can do a vote on it again, see what everyone thinks/wants so it's fair. I've touched base with Splinter about this post, so more then likely we'll do a HC Announcement post about it where everyone can vote on it.
