it never ceases to amaze me how these people were convinced that trying to preserve your health is "cowardly" and it's everyone else who are "sheeple"

literal weapons-grade stupidity

I have watched some drama shows (Chinese Drama, but I think American TV also have that, can't remember off the top of my head) where it's "manly" for a guy to hold an umbrella over a girl when its raining and give her his jacket while the guy just gets splashed soaking wet.

"Masculinity" is so fucking weird. Getting exposed to the idea of Chivalry in various medias is why I hated the idea of "traditional values" and become an egalitarian instead.

One of the key characteristics of conservatives is being the person wearing the boot. When governments told people to wear masks, suddenly the law applied to them, which is why you saw such resistance from conservatives. It wasn't about health or even not being "sheeple" for them. It was, from their POV, the government oppressing them.

They have no problem will laws that apply to everyone else (e.g. abortion, welfare restrictions, etc.) because they don't see themselves as affected. But when laws begin to apply to them, suddenly it's oppression.

"Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect."

That's a good quote - who said that? Or is it just from the CosmicTurtle itself?

It's not about the journey it's the destination.

They're not idiots. They're actually smarter then us given that it worked. They knew what they were doing. These crazy ideas spread like a meme. The spread is important. The left ignores all this and really is blind to this and it's still amazing to see how the left has no idea how to exist digitally.

too many people assumed that maga voters would eventually come around and see reason. while people whose lives were completely wrecked say "yea, this is awful, but i still support trump!!"

Than*

And no they aren't. It's just that trying to convince an idiot that they're an idiot is an uphill battle.

As with a lot of weapon-grade stuff, it was probably engineered for the desired effect...

I used to have coworkers whose masks said "government control device" I reckon they think ice is good for rounding up people without accountability.
