They made the original ships and vehicles for Star Wars by taking existing model kits and mix and matching parts (aka kitbashing). This part of the Millennium Falcon model likely came from a B-29 or similar model set.

Greenhouse cockpits predate the B-29 by many years. The He-111 has it for example.
