They're already caught up when it comes to EVs. They're probably far ahead, even.

As for reusable rocketry, I'm sure there are a few things they'd be interested in learning, but probably don't consider it worth it having to deal with him.

There is absolutely no chance Elon moves to China. First of all, Tesla is already in China but is failing because BYD are now better and cheaper.

Then there the fact that the Chinese government doesn't play around with troublemakers and fraudsters like Musk. They jail their billionaires that step out of line or were found out to be involved with fraud. Elon's 10 years of taking money and promising self driving next year would have landed him in a re-education camp.

They only gaol the ones who aren’t in the parties favour. You can lie and under deliver all you want, just look at their housing market for an example of that. What you can’t do is not be part of the faction that is in power.
