Smetters and his colleagues published a list of suggested reforms that they think could help to fix the budget: raise the retirement age to 70, add a carbon tax, reduce social security benefits.

Wow, novel conclusion my guy.

I really wish I could respect economists, it seems like an interesting field if they weren't such a pseudo-science.

Anything but tax the rich. They must not cover that in the Economics curriculum.

Never taken an economics course, but assume that their version of a required ethics course has more to do with bootlicking.

maybe we could try collecting taxes since all this debt is from not doing the whole tax thing for almost 50 years.

When I was a kid during the Reagan years, we were shitting over the national debt hitting one trillion dollars. AH! Imagine that.
