I hope that Steven pops up on a streaming service with the show continuing. CBS likely owns the title "The Late Show", but Colbert could just go with "The Show That's Late".

BTW, maybe avoid buying things advertised on The Late Show from now till May, Steven seems to have a contract. Or any things advertised on CBS.

I spend ads for a car company. CBS is asking too much for Colberts spot. If we can't afford it, most companies can't.

You can do this, too, you're almost there! Guess what happens when more people take a stand against this kind of thing?

The most important lesson is "Do not obey in advance". CBS has indicated that they're willing to do so, making it more likely that other companies and people will also decide to go along. By pushing back, we lend courage to others to also stand up.

This protest isn't about the Republicans; it's about being visible.

Like I said before, this is simply useless sign waving and impotent finger waggling. It won't do shit, just like the last few protests. I'm not against protesting, in fact I support them. Just saying that you're all trying to take a group of people tiredly chanting and waving signs against a group of billionaires who don't give a shit and nothing will change. Either you hit them in their pockets, which this won't even put a dent into, or hit their physical bodies with 9mm rocks pushed through a metal tube really fast.

Ah yes, the "we shouldn't bother doing anything unless it's unspecified violence at an unspecified time/place to kill the people who are actually fucking everyone up" argument.

Take a second to think about this. I get that you're basically just voicing your frustration, and I agree that billionaires ARE the main problem, but you're going on the Internet poo-pooing people trying to do SOMETHING. Not just something, something concrete with a general goal and a time and place. Where people will meet, talk, and get practiced with protesting and doing something.

Protests are about much more than their organizers stated goal. It's also about the connections and experience people get just as much.

So please stop spreading this cynicism. It's not a new take, and it doesn't help anything unless you're going to back it up with concrete calls to action that the reasonable random people reading this can do.
