The Office was about to be cancelled after season 1, but then some exec saw 40 Year Old Virgin, and how funny Steve can be, so pushed for The Office to be renewed, and the rest is history.

Millennial, he always reminds me of Bruce Allmighty. Although I love The Office and watched it a lot – Michael is simply so unique that my brain doesn't connect him to Steve Carrell.

He was on The Daily Show from 99 to 2005. That's right in the millennial wheelhouse really. That's where I know him from.
