Seems like a good reason to be 21% less fair to one side
PBS helped raise me. Sesame Street is the chief architect of my moral compass.
Now I’m going to watch it die.
They said Federal Funding made up less than 5% of their funding though? 🤔
But now they don't have a locked-in source of income anymore. In a bad fundraising year, they used to be able to lean on that cushion of guaranteed funding to help pay loans, fees, employees, etc. They no longer have that guarantee, so now they'll need to plan for bad fundraising years by reducing spending by more than what they lost. There's not some conspiracy, they're just trying to keep PBS around.
If I had the spare money, I'd buy all of Nova on DVD/BD/ETC. I do not want that becoming potentially lost media.
