Summer seemed so long

Having no concept of money and all that entails.

Bills, rent, food; the stress that stems from money is a scourge upon this earth. Of course, if we had things like UBI, the dread of looking at my CashApp balance would be slightly lessened.

Energy. I was never good at sports. But at least I had stamina. I really miss playing capture the flag with water guns in the forest.

capture the flag with water guns

I've never tried this variant. How does it work? Tag players by squirting them?

Correct. I can't remember the exact rules we had. I think a tagged player had to go back to their flag spot and they had three lives. Water spots (from the conveniently located cemetery next door) were no-shooting zones.

Interesting! We had a "jail" on each side for tagged players. They could be "freed" by an untagged player from their team, but they had to return to their side before resuming play. Water guns sound like a fun additional element.

Not being recorded everywhere I go. Literally.

Spending time with my grammom. My immediate family was pretty blah, but my grammom always made me feel loved.

I can and still do most of the stuff I thought was fun as a kid, and while it's not as carefree, it's still available to do when I please, but I'll never have another grammom.
