much thanks to @gary_host_laptop for the logo design :)
@eya May I ask why you think that? I their afe good reasons to don't use Firefox either...
Brave is an ad company. Use a privacy-centric browser like hardened firefox, librewolf, or ungoogled chromium.
Edit: added a comma
Can we not downvote genuine questions like this? All you do is discourage people wanting to learn and make it harder for people that think differently than you to see arguments against them.
Save the downvotes for rude or bad faith comments.
@IronKrill Thats the same thing I think abt you guys, but alright.
I wasn't sure how to word my reply, but I was referring to all the people downvoting your response and not you. Unsure if that came across.
You'd need a very good reason to not use Firefox given that it's all that stands against a Google monopoly on web standards. I was using a Chromium-based browser myself until Opera and Microsoft both abandoned their own browser engines - after that I couldn't possibly justify not supporting Firefox.
Its better than Chrome, Edge, and any other proprietary spyware browser
Firefox based browsers exits and if you need chromium based there are also other degooled browser available.
True but don't you think brave is better than chrome?
In the same way that I think 3rd degree burns are better than 4th degree burns
I think you mean 3rd degree burns compared to second degree burns but I get what you are saying
? 4th degree burn is a real thing
True but its basicly the same as 3rd degree burn. You will basicly never see it in the field
Yes, but when good options exist, why give thought to which bad option is less bad?
Because we need less google control. Also brave is pretty user friendly
Yeah but they add other tracking to it and all the crypto bs. And im not keen on sponsoring a company which has a ceo who supports anti-gay politicians financially and then denies it.
Check out Vivaldi then.
It falls in the proprietary category
Didn't they announce that they are source available?
Its still not Foss. Unless its under a free software license its a hard no for me.
At least its not chrome though
I'll be the one to stay on topic instead of joining the omgchromebad crowd.
My question/concern would be, why would a browser need to connect to an outside source in order to Forget your browsing? What would it need to reference?
