my thumbs up because you also know them :) i'm really happy i discovered them today and i'm happy someone also knows them. It was a good day and life is good :)

so how do you know Mägo de Oz? And have you seen them live?

[–] thelittleblackbird@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

I grow up in a Spanish culture, and mägo is a very famous band with a very long history.

More than a band is almost an institution, people come and go regularly but they are always there.

They have a lot of good songs, so I am pretty sure you will enjoy them. And no, I haven't been able to see them in live yet.

Awaiting the opportunity then!

There was a time they seem to be in every berbena. Like I saw them several times on a single summer for free.

I think it was after Gaia, when they git their second popularity boost (first being after Fiesta Pagans).

Mago de Oz is such a widely known band in Latin America and Spain. It's a bit weird seeing people just learning from them for the first time. Have my upvote for that :)

Thanks. I was trying to find nice spanish singing rockbands or metalbands to help motivate me to learn spanish. And then i found the cover art so funny that i listened to more of their songs and they are really awesome. :)

Spanish singing rock bands

There's many good famous Argentinian rock bands from the 80s and 90s with clean vocals. Soda Stereo, Divididos, and Attaque 77 (sometimes spelled A77aque) would be my recommendation to start with for bands that lean more towards the hard side of Rock (there's more, but some I won't recommend because of their members' later questionable actions, and the rest you'll find by following the trail of related artists from the above set). For Pop/Rock start with Los Rodriguez, Charly Garcia, and Los Autenticos Decadentes.

From other countries off the top of my head I'd recommend Mano Negra, Cafe Tacvba, and Molotov (warning: explicit lyrics).

thank you for the recommendations. :) I already heared about Soda Stereo and Molotiv. Mexican Bands are next on my list. I already discovered Pantheón Róccocó some years ago. There is a lot to explore still :)
