it’s their own award show and the film that won best picture is a story about a palestinian kid who was denied entry to tel aviv trying to visit the beach.

Also since it won it automatically becomes israel’s nomination for the oscars best international film

He doesn’t spell out his issue with it this is the closest he comes to explaining why he’s mad

Under my watch, Israeli citizens will not pay from their pockets for a ceremony that spits in the faces of our heroic soldiers.

The main character is played by a 13 yearold Palestinian kid so you’re probably spot on that his continued existence is the insult
