Yes but I'd rather the 4th option by choosing not to have an account just like facebook, twitter, instagram, etc.

Learning from insiders that resume spamming barely works and that going to networking events seem to be the preferred option nowadays.

Spamming never worked and I never understood networking but then again I’m autistic. I keep LinkedIn because it’s the recruiters that reach out to me from time to time. My gut feeling is that these days if you already have a job you won’t have trouble getting new one but if you’re unemployed then you’re screwed.

I agree that in-person networking events are good however sometimes hiring people across the globe is necessary. If it’s open-source and federated, that should prevent the future abuse of the platform.
