Alexander Tyunin, chief executive of a Russian carbon fiber and composites company affiliated with state nuclear giant Rosatom, was discovered dead on Thursday near his car in the Moscow region.

A hunting rifle and a note referencing long-term depression were found nearby.

Authorities say they are treating the case as a possible suicide.

A hunting rifle...

Ballistics reports indicate that he shot himself at a distance of roughly 400 meters. He then walked backwards to the location of the rifle in a pair of someone else's boots and clumsily signed the note before expiring. Very sad.

thought

You can say hoped, it's okay.

I do love the idea of just referring to the entire cabinet of our current regime as russian businessmen.

I did hope that as well, yes.

What's mysterious about it? As it's said in Russian, it's a fight between a toad and a snake.

I wonder why all the house cleaning by russian boss men? Ukraine related? Or just power struggles, loyalties to prighozin or some now disfavored faction?

[–] njm1314@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I imagine they're starting to have loyalty issues. Seemingly endless war to which they can't seem to win, complete drain on the economy. There's got to be Rumblings. So you kill some people they're talking too loud I guess, or people who don't tow the party line strong enough.

[–] hector@lemmy.today 2 points 1 week ago

I bet they went through all the messaging of prigozin and everybody else through what they thought were secure messaging channels and that could be part of this, that is pure conjecture.

My point is I believe the boss is paranoid and searching and lashing out at anyone he suspects of disloyalty.

Wasn't this company the one that announced major job cuts due to its dire economic situation?

“Mysterious”. Mysterious will probably be the next wave of republican control tactics.

"Misterious"?. In that same line of thought, there have been some misterious décapitations of cartel members in northern mexico.

What kind of present did he not hand over to Putin? His daughters?

Really sad seeing what censorship does to a nation.

China, Russia, North Korea, Iran, all of them do heinous things and we only get to see what leaks out because none of them have a free press.
