Just kidding (mostly). I think this really breaks down along blue/white collar lines. If you spend your work day turning wrenches, doing physical labor, etc, you’re going to want to shower in the evening.

If you go to an air conditioned office and sit at a computer most of the day, you’ll likely want to showers as close to the start of the day and show up for the job as clean as possible.

I also think it’s easier for a white collar worker to get by showering at night than a blue collar worker to get by with showering in the morning.

Carpenter here, this is correct. If I showered only in the morning, I'd develop an acne problem and mess up my sheets. I would live in pretty serious discomfort in my evenings, dusty and sticky. Showering morning and night would be fine, but morning only would be extremely nasty. You can't do that with a dirty job unless you are an absolute creature.

It’s weird because as a blue collar worker I could never stand going into work dirty, but as a white collar worker working from home I typically shower in the evening (though I did oftentimes shower again in the evening as the former).

Same. My morning shower also signals the start of my day, and my evening shower indicates the end of my work day. In addition to just feeling clean, it helps my body adjust to time of day, and to prepare for what's to come (AM stress vs PM booze 😂 )

I do not touch my bed until I've showered, so it's always nighttime shower for me. I can't imagine sleeping in the bed without showering, it would be SO uncomfortable.

There are advantages to both. Neither is wrong. If you work hard or otherwise get dirty during the day, it’s not a bad idea to go to bed clean — especially if you sleep in the nude.

It’s also refreshing to shower in the morning, and if you work in close proximity to others, you don’t wanna be the one who doesn’t wash their ass before coming in.

Most kids seem to bathe or get bathed at night, and I’ve found that preteens really start to smell bad by mid day. I guess it’s an adolescence thing? Little kids sweat too so it’s not that, but some pretend straight up stink, and I don’t just mean boys! In fact it’s usually girls! Not trying to be sexist but I’ve found they tend to smell more.

So maybe the answer is a full shower at the end of the day and a quick shower in the morning? Of course deodorant It’s important too, and a bit of perfume or cologne, especially in a humid area.

Depends on how you feel. If you live somewhere where nights are hot, then a night shower might help you to sleep. If nights are cold -- showering is just unpleasant. Soemthing similar thinking for morning: you might not have time for a morning shower, being in need to get up at 5:00. Or you might like a morning shower because it'll grant you an additional 15 minutes of freshness at 35 degrees morning.

I think it might fall more on "be clean" than fall asleep. If it is hot at night then you are sweating during the day - full stop - it might not be a lot, or for long periods, but you are getting smelly.
