I see both your and the other commenter's point. Sometimes people genuinely recognise they aren't good at something and would not contribute much (I've been there), but other times this could stem from insecurity rather than honesty. It's difficult to know which one applies.
The woman said no, and Everett’s just respecting her wishes instead of allowing her to be coerced!
Everett’s the good guy about 65% of the time.
She didn't - she said she doesn't know how to play and doesn't want to spoil the game. The other guys are trying to be inclusive and Mr. True would deserve a Mr. True special tbh.
One thing I really appreciate about these comics is that they don’t pretend Mr. True is a good person universally. He has his motivations and his flaws, and he’s certainly not perfect, but he tries.
He’s got a very black-and-white world view though.
Exactly, it makes him more relatable. You nailed it. We've all been to some social game where someone says "I'll teach you" and it's miserable for the learner, too. EDIT: I meant that often in such a situation, the person who offered to teach you drops you like a hot potato!
Rare case of True being in the wrong. Gatekeeping and mysogeny are both bad traits deserving of True's usual ire. (unrelated, why does firefox think mysogeny isn't a real word?)

in my defense, the only True comics that I've seen are the ones posted here since I joined lemmy.
@glitchdx all good, and I think the ones that get posted online tend to favor the ones where we're on his side.
