This article is probably the best summary I have read so far. 🀌

[–] elbucho@lemmy.world 7 points 5 days ago

Well, ok. Maybe one note...

[–] tordenflesk@lemmy.world 15 points 5 days ago

Where's the humor?

These are just a series of statements of facts.

Do people not recall this from his first term (okay this is dated 2022 but I swear I saw it in his first term)? Sorry you have to click 'more' to see the rest. But it's all why he's horrible not just as a president but as human being. No one with his traits should ever have any ounce of real power on a global scale yet for some reason the US voted him in twice (or was rigged, I try to think better of the US but it obviously wasn't close enough to say no).

"Why do some British people not like Donald Trump?"

A better questions is, "Why do any people anywhere like Donald Trump?"

It does bring to mind a quote from Full Metal Jacket, 'what is your major malfunction numbnuts?' Mean he's an obvious con man and embodies the worst we have to offer as a species and he's not shy about it. Not even clever, smart and he manages to get away with everything from trying to bribe/strong arm Ukraine to stealing classified documents, to freaking breaking campaign violations to keep someone quiet.

I know the basic answer is "because he's a cult leader," but it's still hard for me to comprehend that kind of mindset.

Truer words cannot be spoken

Don't forget he's also a pedo

Oliver Kornetzke is American.

[–] logi@piefed.world 4 points 5 days ago

And the criticism is stronger for it. But perhaps you'd consider throwing him a UK passport? (Diminished as it is after the farce of Brexit.) He might well need it soon

"This country" gives it away.

Transcript:

Behold, the festering carcass of American rot shoved into an ill-fitting suit: the sleaze of a conman, the cowardice of a draft dodger, the gluttony of a parasite, the racism of a Klansman, the sexism of a back-alley creep, the ignorance of a bar-stool drunk, and the greed of a hedge-fund ghoulβ€”all spray-painted orange and paraded like a prize hog at a county fair. Not a president. Not even a man. Just the diseased distillation of everything this country swears it isn't but has always beenβ€”arrogance dressed up as exceptionalism, stupidity passed off as common sense, cruelty sold as toughness, greed exalted as ambition, and corruption worshiped like gospel. It is America's shadow made flesh, a rotting pumpkin idol proving that when a nation kneels before money, power, and spite, it doesn't just lose its soulβ€”it shits out this bloated obscenity and calls it a leader.

A symptom of a much deeper problem. Rot or rust usually takes a while before it's visible, and just covering it up doesn't stop anything.

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 3 points 5 days ago

It hurts because it's true.

Also a Criminal who is so good at it because he learned how to be from a hogh-society, self-hating gay, self-hating jew, self-loving Mafia lawyer who was attracted to him (Roy Cohn).

Roy went on to die of AIDs just after the Reagan administration.

"Hog-society" indeed ✊🏻

[–] amotio@lemmy.world 5 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Hey! That's insulting carcasses!

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 1 points 5 days ago

Even rotting carcasses have their place, providing food for scavengers and microorganisms.

I agree, but the significant format change makes it difficult to accurately attribute, which is a significant issue for memes in general.
